For the third day of the Costarmoricaine 2024 long distance, the Formula 18 and Viper catamarans had to sail in the other direction, toward the East, from Perros-Guirec where they had stopped the day before, towards the port of Saint-Quay-Portrieux.The wind opportunely changed direction this morning, while freshening slightly during the day to reach around ten knots. The sky, which was slightly foggy in the morning, quickly cleared and the race took place under bright sunshine. The race was therefore able to be done again almost in its entirety downwind, and relatively quickly since the first ones arrived in 3h29m for 42nm in a direct line on the map.The speed of the race and the relatively small gaps made it possible to complete the course in a single race, whereas it is traditionally neutralized at the Vieille de Loguivy, south of Bréhat, to allow the fleet to be regrouped.Three boats are nevertheless out of time (1 hour after the first to arrive to finish), the associated penalty will prevent them from falling too far behind at the overall score.
In Formula 18, Cédric Fleury and Damien Dayot won a leg for the second time in a row ahead of Arthur Boc-Ho and Laetitia Lefèvre (FRA2176).The first four are within 14 minutes. For the Vipers, Allyson and Olivier Mousselon (FRA622) continue their winning streak, ahead of Charles and Antoine Ferrec (FRA360).
Tomorrow, for the penultimate stage, the boats will return to Erquy.
