For this first day of our annual long distance, La Costarmoricaine, we did not expect to find any wind. The weather forecast this morning was not necessarily optimistic and there was only 3 to 5 knots when we set out on the water. But the wind picked up, reaching around ten knots, ideal conditions for the entire fleet. This allowed them to complete the entire course under spinnaker, and therefore to arrive at Men Joliguet, Île de Bréhat in around 3 hours, even a little less for the first ones.
The start of the Viper series was given 10 minutes ahead of the Formula 18s, the former being considered a little slower. However, the first viper, the FRA622 of Allyson and Olivier Mousselon, was fast enough not to be overtaken by the first Formula 18, the 888 of Francis Ferrari and David Fanouillère, which only arrived about twenty seconds later. The first viper widened the gap from the first leg, it was a quarter of an hour ahead of the second viper, the FRA360 of Charles and Antoine Ferrec. This gap is significant but as we know, the race is not yet sailed.
Tomorrow's stage will leave Bréhat around 11 a.m. towards Perros-Guirec.
